Dr. Farrelly is an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in the care of muscles, bones and joints. Dr. Farrelly subspecializes in orthopedic trauma, focusing on patients who have been injured. She treats common injuries such as fractures, tendon tears and dislocations, as well as complex injuries, including pelvic fractures, malunions (fractures that have healed incorrectly) and patients with multiple injuries. Dr. Farrelly is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Farrelly sees patients in San Diego and Orange County, CA. Many of these patients present to Palomar Medical Center and Orange County Global Medical Center. Both hospitals are Level II Trauma Centers accredited by the American College of Surgeons. Patients are brought to these centers after traumatic injuries, such as motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents, falls and sports accidents. Dr. Farrelly works with highly-skilled trauma teams, including critical care surgeons, neurosurgeons, vascular and plastic surgeons, in order to address the medical needs of people who have experienced traumatic injuries. Dr. Farrelly also sees patients for consultation in offices in San Marcos and Santa Ana. She has performed over one thousand surgeries, the majority involving fracture repair.
As an accomplished female collegiate athlete and seven-time Boston marathon runner, Dr. Farrelly knows how important maintaining an active lifestyle is.
